November is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month – and for many working in construction, it’s a timely reminder that mental health matters just as much as physical safety on site.
Across the UK, thousands of tradespeople face stress, financial pressures, long hours, and demanding site environments. It’s no surprise that the construction industry has some of the highest rates of mental health struggles among men.
Why We’re Taking Action
The construction industry continues to face some of the highest rates of mental health challenges among men in the UK.
By offering access to free mental health support, we hope to encourage more open conversations across our teams, reduce stigma, and make sure that every worker knows where to turn when life feels heavy.
We understand that it’s not always easy to talk about how you feel, especially in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. That’s why we are now providing access to a free and confidential counselling helpline for all KeyTo workers and their immediate families.
Helpline: 0117 934 0105
This confidential service offers up to six one-hour telephone counselling sessions, giving workers access to qualified professionals who understand the challenges people face both in and outside of work. The initial call doesn’t count toward your six sessions.
Support is available to all workers, as well as family members aged 18 and over (or 16+ if in full-time employment) living in the same household.
What You Can Talk About
This helpline is here to support you through a wide range of personal issues, such as:
- Bereavement or loss
- Relationship breakdown or divorce
- Financial pressures
- Stress, anxiety, or low mood
By encouraging open conversations and making support easy to access, we hope to make a real difference for the people who keep our industry moving.
If you or someone you know could use a little extra support this month, please don’t wait – reach out and talk to someone.
